“Happy Holidays”

 As I’ve grown older I’ve begun to see
The world through different eyes
& Have defined what is important to me

Things I once took for granted
I now hold dear to my heart
From the beauty of the landscape
To the way things are

I’ve grown to accept things I can not change
& I embrace those that are important to me
Realizing how blessed I truly am to spend time
Among friends and family

I continually strive to never forget
Where it is I’ve come from
The lessons learned along the way
The places that I’ve been
& The things that I’ve done

I openly acknowledge the mistakes I’ve made
For they too are a part of who I am
For without the falls along the way
I wouldn’t appreciate what I now have

Celebrate each breath
As though it were your last
For soon today becomes yesterday
Another chapter in our past

So as the holidays approach
Remember to capture every single moment
With your loved ones
As I send my blessing to your family & friends
& All the memories that become
